Tamariki Education Centre Nairobi Kenya
In 2019 the Kelburn Normal Student Council decided to adopt The Tamariki Education Centre in Nairobi as our sister school. The Tamariki Education Centre in Nairobi, Kenya is a small school built by Kiwis for children who would not normally go to school. Over time, we have formed a partnership with this school, between our children and their children communicating through letters and exchanges of videos. We continue building on our relationship by raising funds through discos etc to put towards connecting up the electricity and a water supply at their school. This community service dimension is important to our school's kaupapa and our sense of whanaungatanga and manaakitanga.
